How to write a resume for racing sponsorships?

Jenni F asked:

I have my race drivers portfolios done. Most companies are asking for a resume, is this enough? Or is there something more I need to add? If I do need to submit a resume, how should this be done? What all needs to be listed? All the help you could provide would be very helpful.

  1. Make a chart for racing as your resume:

Start with (like 5 years of racing highlights)
Series—Year— (Example SCCA Speed World Challenge)
    Date—Race—-Car—Class—Finish—-Start—Laps possible—laps completed—
Then you need to have Highlights under your chart of racing for that year.

Remember each year should be separate and each series you race in should be a separate chart (with categories listed above) and have your highlights from that year at the end of the last chart for the last series for that year. Highlights are how well you did, awards, accomplishments, etc.

At the end of the resume I would add a little about your self and what you enjoy most (which racing) like a short racing bio.

    I hope this helps.
