Hello, I’m Scott Kustes and yes, that’s me, dressed as the Swedish Chef for Halloween down below. I started this site because I love cooking and eating. And to be modest, I’m really good at both of them.
Lots of my friends and family ask me for information on how to cook this or that. Or I get asked for simple recipes for salmon or pork. Or I get requests for specific dishes that I should bring to cookouts and parties. I’ve even been told that I should open a restaurant.
So I decided that there had to be other people out there that want to cook better meals, but just need a little push in the right direction with ingredients, cooking methods, and ideas.
Shoot, I even converted my girlfriend from a girl that ate the occasional fish and chicken to a girl that craves burgers, is down for eating beef heart, and is known to have some bacon now and then.
You see, there are plenty of people telling you WHAT to eat. Nobody is telling you HOW to make it taste good. Or they give you a recipe, but you have no idea WHY you do certain things in the cooking process. Looking at a lot of other people’s recipe, I’m not convinced even they know why they do the things they do.
So I want to help you actually get in the kitchen and have fun, learn how to cook any kind of meat and vegetables, and be able to make up your own killer recipes.
I don’t care if you can’t use an Easy Bake Oven. You can learn to cook. It was only a few years back, I couldn’t cook to save my life. But I got in there and gave it the old college try and I started to pick up on some things. I got to where I could make food that mostly didn’t suck and didn’t come out of a package.
Then I learned how to use herbs and spices, the proper way to use the various cooking methods, and flavors that combine well. My cooking skills skyrocketed, even though I still made some of the same mistakes that you’re probably making today. It wasn’t until the last year or so that I’ve really solidified everything so that nearly every meal is a homerun.
